These instructions are used to restore a wordpress site.

After copying the wordpress files and wordpress sql database to another server for backup or to run while the main server is down.

Restore database:

#mysql -u root -p
MariaDB>drop database wordpress

#mysql -u root -p  wordpress<wordpress.2019-06-07.sql

Copy backed up files to new server...
#sudo tar -xvf html.2019-06-07.tar.gz --directory /

Edit the wordpress database values that specify the siteurl.

multi_options: options named “siteurl” and “home”
multi_sitemeta: the option named “siteurl”
multi_blogs: any entries in the “domains” column that have the old domain name
(optionally if exists)
multi_#_options: Each sub-site will have sets of tables that correspond to the blog_id in the wp_blogs table. You need to go to the multi_#_options table, where # corresponds to the blog_id, and update the “siteurl” and “home” settings in that table.
